GORDON MANISKAS LANDS FILM INDUSTRY WORK IN L.A!
Graduate Gordon Maniskas completed the Film Connection while living in Boston, Massachusetts and upon finishing the program and his spec screenplay, the aspiring filmmaker made the move to Los Angeles to pitch his film concept and jump into the film industry with both feet!
Gordon’s screenwriting mentor, Peter Foldy, was impressed with Gordon’s script and his strong work ethic, so upon Gordon relocating to L.A., Foldy took Gordon to a couple of networking events and introduced him to a number of producers, screenwriters and directors.
Then, just weeks after his arrival, Evan Astrowsky, producer and Film Connection mentor, introduced Gordon to UTA (United Talent Agency) and within days, Gordon had secured work in the industry at one of the most reputable talent agencies in the world!
Now is Gordon hanging back and resting on his laurels? No way! He’s working to get his screenplay, a sci-fi alien flick with strong political undertones, into production. Speaking of the opportunities that are coming his way, Gordon has this to say about the program:
“The Film Connection is an amazing thing. It’s not a magic wand, it is not a genie, it’s not a fairy godmother. It is a vehicle that will present new opportunities to you. If you have the ambition and drive, hopefully you can turn those opportunities into a career. But it is up to you.”
That’s our point exactly.
