This isn’t a boring Bangor film school classroom. This isn’t an overcrowded college laboratory. This is life. Real Life. YOUR LIFE.

Your traditional big-city film school will do nothing but leave you in debt. The Bangor Film Connection will give you real-world experience and your very own industry contacts to jump-start your filmmaking career at a fraction of what it costs elsewhere. Our two incredible tracks that pair students with professional industry mentors are the 6-month behind the scenes program and the more comprehensive 8-month directors program. The 6-month track is for students who want to focus on a specific area of concentration. The 8-month track pairs you with local mentors who will oversee your project from inception to final cut. At the conclusion of the program, the Bangor Film Connection will fly you out to L.A. to meet with your dream mentors and develop a pitch for your project. You will then get an exclusive pitch meeting with an industry executive. This opportunity doesn’t even come to long-time Hollywood players.

Get Real World Film Production Experience in Bangor

Bangor, Maine is a port city located in the south-central part of the state, about 30 miles upriver from Penobscot Bay. The population of Bangor is approximately 31,000 people, but the surrounding area hosts a population of around 148,000. The gorgeous natural scenery in this area makes it a great place for location filming. In fact, Bangor is the hometown of author Steven King, and several of the film adaptations of his novels have been shot on location here. Maine also benefits from the support of a local film office and state tax incentives that attract filmmakers to the state.  If you are looking at a career in film directing, film production or film editing, Bangor is a pleasant alternative to relocation to New York or Los Angeles–and FILM CONNECTION can help plug you in.
