Located in the southeast corner of the state not far from the Colorado and Nebraska state lines, Cheyenne is convenient to a wide range of gorgeous locations for filmmaking, including rolling prairies, majestic mountains, rock formations, rivers, railroad yards, and even urban areas (Denver is less than 2 hours to the south).
Wyoming regularly serves as a location site for the filming of movies, TV shows, commercials, specials and documentaries--and the area in and around Cheyenne is no exception. Examples of movies filmed in Cheyenne and the surrounding regions of Wyoming include Wicked Season, Hearsay, The Laramie Project, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, The Thickness of Delirium, and classic westerns Cheyenne Autumn and The Plainsman, to name a few.
