Do you want a lot of debt? Because a traditional big-city film school offers you debt and a useless diploma. That’s it. Film Connection Film School in Fort Wayne, Indiana gives you actual working experience and your very own industry contacts to kick off your filmmaking career for less than what it costs elsewhere. Our two specialized tracks pair students up with professional industry mentors.
We offer a 6-month behind-the-scenes program and a more comprehensive 8-month directors program. The 6-month track is for students who want to zero in on a specific area of film, like screenwriting, cinematography, or editing. You will meet with your mentors at their studios or production houses and gain valuable experience that will impress your future employers. The 8-month track pairs you with local mentors who will oversee your project from idea to DVD.
Additionally, those in the director’s program will get dream mentors based out of Los Angeles who will meet with them online. At the conclusion of the program, Ft. Wayne Film Connection will fly you out to L.A. to meet with your dream mentors and then get an elite pitch meeting with an industry executive.
Located in northeastern Indiana near the Ohio border, Ft. Wayne, Indiana is a city of roughly 256,000 people, with a surrounding area population of over a half million. Ft. Wayne has been home to a long line of entertainers, including actors Carole Lombard, Jenna Fischer, Shelly Long, and Dan Butler; director Neil LaBute; filmians Megan Mullins and Amanda Perez; and even classic Christian rock band Petra. This area is within the driving range of major cities including Chicago, Indianapolis, and Cleveland, making it a good central hub for location filming. If you aspire to be a film director, film producer, film editor, cameraperson, or otherwise–but would rather not relocate–with FILM CONNECTION helping you out, there’s no reason you can’t learn the skills you need right here in Ft. Many major movies, commercials, TV shows, and documentaries are filmed all over Indiana on a regular basis. Some of the productions shot in and near Ft. Wayne include the films In the Company of Men, American Reel, and Savage Beach, as well as television episodes of WWF Raw and WWE Smackdown. Surrounding areas of Indiana have also seen such films as Road to Perdition, Rudy, Hoosiers, Nightmare on Elm Street (the 2009 remake), and Public Enemies.
Ft. Wayne FILM CONNECTION will help further your filmmaking career by placing you with a local working film or television professional who will act as your mentor-instructor.
