The Film Connection Film School in Harrisonburg, VA expressed purpose is to get people from all walks of life, with different and divergent viewpoints, into the same room and make things happen. Do you want to be a professional filmmaker? Do you want to direct? Write? Or produce? Well, our program will introduce you to all the right people. It’s really simple. The Film Connection runs on an externship basis. We pair you with working pros who are doing exactly what you’re doing and then you’re off to the races. Over the course of our program, you’ll be working with a screenwriter to hone ideas into a shooting script. You’ll also be working with an editor and two mentors to help shape your vision. All you need to do is take the first step. We’ll do the rest.
Harrisonburg, Virginia is a town of about 45,000 people located in the Shenandoah Valley in the northern part of the state. A college town, Harrisonburg is home to both Eastern Mennonite University and James Madison University. Harrisonburg enjoys the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains to the east and the Appalachian Mountains to the west, plus it is within driving distance to metropolitan areas such as Baltimore and Washington, DC, making it a good central hub for filming locations.
Major movies, commercials, TV shows, and documentaries are filmed regularly throughout Virginia, including in and around the Harrisonburg area.
