Want to be a part of the growing film community in North Platte? The only way to do it is with the Film Connection film school in North Platte, Nebraska. Our 6-month behind-the-scenes track pairs you with specialists in the area. By your program’s end, you will not only have the real-world experience that’s missing from most film school graduate's resumes, but you’ll have legitimate industry contacts for any ideas that you develop in the future. Our second track is our more extensive 8-month director program. Here you will work in partnership with local mentors and a dream mentor in Los Angeles. In your final week, you will be flown out to L.A. to pitch your idea before an industry executive. There’s no telling how far you can go with our training!
North Platte, Nebraska is located in the southwestern part of the state, near the borders of Colorado, Wyoming, and Kansas. It is home to roughly 25,000 people, with the railroad being its main industry. North Platte is within driving distance of such major cities as Denver, Omaha, and Kansas City, making it a good central hub for finding filming locations. If you are considering a career in filmmaking as a film producer, film director, film editor, or cameraman, North Platte can be a pleasant alternative to the craziness of New York or L.A.–and FILM CONNECTION can help you connect with the opportunities you need to succeed right in this area.
Movies, commercials, TV shows, and documentaries are filmed all over Nebraska on a regular basis, including in and around the North Platte area. A sampling of the films that have done location shooting here and in the surrounding regions include The Notorious Colonel Steel, Dying Days, Almost Normal, Elizabethtown, and the documentary Beyond the Mat.
The secret to FILM CONNECTION’s success is our mentor-extern approach, in which we hook you up with a working film or television professional for one-on-one training during a six-month course. During this time, you’ll gain valuable hands-on experience while making important industry connections that can further your career. Our system works!
