If you feel this way, you may be an ideal candidate for the Salt Lake City Film Connection Film School. We operate on a simple externship basis. We want you to have a career in film. And what better way is there to do that then just to start working? There isn’t one.
Through the Film Connection you’ll be gaining on-location real world, hands-on production experience. You’ll be learning how a film is made and how you best can contribute.
You’ll also be developing your own ideas. You’ll be paired up with a Hollywood screenwriter who will assist you in telling the story that you’ve been thinking about for years. You’ll also be matched with two mentors and an editor.

Salt Lake City is the state capital and largest city of the state of Utah, hosting a greater metro population of over a million people and listed as the 31st largest DMA in the nation. Besides being home to numerous television stations and production companies, this area enjoys one of the most diverse natural settings in the nation. Breathtaking mountains, high deserts, rock formations, the amazing Bonneville Salt Flats, and of course the Great Salt Lake, are all within driving distance--making for an amazing amount of backdrops for filmmaking locations.
Many major movies, commercials, TV shows and documentaries are filmed in and around Salt Lake City on a regular basis. IMDB lists over 400 such productions that have done filming in the area, including the films A Life Less Ordinary, The World's Fastest Indian, The Sandlot, Dumb & Dumber, Con Air, and 127 Hours, just to name a few. Salt Lake City is no stranger to television production, either. The immensely popular High School Filmal television movies were shot here, as well as TV series Big Love and Everwood.
