You may be wondering what your best option is if you're considering a career in film. Do you go to a traditional film school program or an alternative? Traditional film schools require two years of general education courses before you can begin studying the specifics of filmmaking. However, St. Louis Film Connection offers an alternative that allows you to jump right into the action and get an inside view of how movies, TV shows, and videos are made.
Film Connection offers hands-on experience from day one by pairing each student with a mentor who is already working in the film industry. This provides students with invaluable insight and guidance on how to break into filmmaking. You’ll receive real-world guidance from experienced professionals and have access to valuable resources that will give you a leg up in the competitive world of filmmaking.
One of the biggest benefits of the Film Connection is that you’ll get real-world experience from day one. You won’t be stuck in a classroom reading about filmmaking, you’ll be on set or on location. You’ll learn practical skills that you can use in your future projects.
One of the things that set us apart from other film schools is our commitment to providing each student with one-on-one training. Your mentor will work with you closely, providing feedback and answering any questions you have along the way. This personalized approach ensures that you have all the tools and knowledge you need to succeed in filmmaking.
As a Film Connection student, you’ll have access to a supportive network of professionals who are dedicated to helping you succeed. Your mentor will provide guidance and advice, and you’ll also have access to an Academic Facilitator that will answer any questions you have about the program. We want to see you succeed, and we’ll do everything we can to help you reach your goals.
We also offer up to one year of job placement assistance after you’ve completed one of our programs. Our graduates go on to make their own movies, find work with their mentor, or get hired on elsewhere due to recommendations. Think of it like this: while students at “brand” universities are finishing their sophomore year, you could already be earning a paycheck.

Our remote film training program offers convenience and affordability while still providing students with access to the one-on-one experience with their mentor that they would get from attending an in-person class.
