Zanesville, Ohio is located in the east-central part of the state, hosting a population of around 25,000 people. Despite its small size, Zanesville is strategic to plenty of natural scenery and is within convenient driving distance to major cities such as Columbus, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and other places–making it a great central spot for finding filming locations. Several production companies make their home in this area, and Zanesville also benefits from a generous tax incentive plan offered by the state to attract filmmakers to the region. If you are looking at a filmmaking career, whether in directing, producing, editing, or other filmmaking professions, you’ll find a surprising number of opportunities to learn in Zanesville–and FILM CONNECTION can get you connected to those opportunities.
Ohio regularly serves as the location site for movies, TV shows, specials, and documentaries, including around the Zanesville area. A sampling of the movies that have done location filming in the region around Zanesville includes Little Man Tate, Noises Off, Traffic, Rebound, the 2007 documentary Slacker Uprising, and film classic Brubaker, to name a few.
